Ohm beads Beadmas Day 1

And we have a winner! Corywn, congratulations!

I am ringing the Beadmas Bell to officially open Beadmas 2018!

Beadmas is all about Ohmily from around the world connecting, having fun and winning a bead or two! The price to be won today is one Beadmas Bell send directly from Ohm beads HQ! The winner will be picked at random. You can comment below and the contest closes at Seattle midnight P.M.T. (09:00 hours C.E.T.). Have fun and good luck!

When Christmas is approaching the Christmas mood is building. So tempting to already put up an ornament. A longlife treasure or a string of lights to lighten the dark! Your chalange for today is to tell us what holiday ornament you put up first! Tell us about that ornament or your favourite one that gets centre stage every year!

My first ornaments up are these two adorable danish Santas! I sometimes put them on my mantle as early as beginning of November! I bought these years ago while on summer vacation in Denmark in the cutest store with a year around Christmas attic! So these Santas are two in one: gorgeous Christmas ornaments and awesome summer holiday souvenirs!

  1. I have a soft toy Rudolf from the Rankin & Bass Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer. His nose lights up! He is always front & centre under the tree. I make my kids watch it every year. Favourite holiday tradition.

  2. The christmas crib is really important to me. It’s the last thing that I expose when I’m decorating the house, but is the most important to me.

  5. Hello from Germany,
I have a christmas ball, I got from a good friend he made by himself pressing nails in a foam ball. It is rusty today and most people would say it is ugly. To me it is still the most beautifull tree decoration ans part of it every single year.
I wish you a merry Christmas and a Happy new year!

  6. У меня есть небольшая елочка высотой около 40 см. Я ее сделала из кораллов, морских раковин и бусин. Она стоит на полке весь год! У нас праздник каждый день!

  7. I have a huge white and silver poinsettia flower decoration that I use instead of the star on top of the tree. That’s the first ornament I put on the tree.

  8. I have a nativity set that my father bought for my mom the first Christmas they were married. It is not in good condition anymore (it’s almost 50 years old!), but it’s one of the few things I have from my dad andit was a big part of my childhood Christmas. It has a place of pride every Christmas.

  9. When I think of my favorite ornament, I don’t think of my own tree, but the one at my Mom’s house. As I kid I always loved this old Santa ornament with a cotton beard. I always got to put this one on the tree and as I got older the beard got scragglier and scragglier. That ornament still exists today with just a few tufts of cotton left, but it has always brought me happiness. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder ❤

  10. I have some cardboard angels that were made for a children’s fundraiser. The angels’ bodies were pre-made but the faces were drawn by the kids so I picked out the angels with decidedly non-angelic expressions. One looks angry, one is impish, one is a stereotypically be-spectacled nerd. Making it real! These angels make me laugh.

  12. My first Christmas decoration/ornament his year is a craft project actually, I created an Advent Christmas ornament countdown all hanging on my tree! My 3 & 5 year old daughters helped me create & decorate these little paper craft bags all numbered, filled with 2 tiny treats & hung on the branches. And it starts today, they are so excited! Me too 🤓

  13. I put up an ornament made by my friend Ellen when we were in eight grade, so that was Christmas 1973. Dang, had to think about that one. I next put up my Danish girl ornament and a glass Mickey Mouse. Those always go up in that order every year at the top of the tree.

  14. I collect antique Christmas tree glass ornaments but I don’t put them on the tree, I display them in bowls or vases around the house. I love the colours and shapes probably why I’m addicted to beads 🤣I may have just bought some more from an on line auction on Facebook great idea ringing the bell to start Beadmas ❤️💚
