OHM is hosting a whole month of fun, games and giveaways to bring the OHMily community closer together! And we need that now more than ever!

It so happens today is Star Trek First Contact Day! On April 5 2063 the Vulcans landed on earth and met the human race for the first time!

I am a huge Star Trek fan and back in 2016 I visited a Star Trek exhibition in Seattle. This is the original Star Fleet uniform worn by Lenard Nemoy aka Mr. Spock!

Live Long and Prosper is the traditional Vulcan greeting invented by Lenard Nimoy and it’s today’s price!

My very first OHM bead was Cute Ufo back in 2014! I had seen that kind of bead before with other brands! And Live Long and Prosper soon followed! I now can have my fascination for SciFi and space on my wrist and look at it all day! My space bracelets have been growing over time and I love them!

  2. Hi Trudy, my first Ohm beads bead purchased was Unicorny. I entered the world of Ohm just over two years ago and was struck by it. The bead is still with me I like it very much, mounted in the bracelet dedicated to the fairies.

  3. My first Ohm bead was Sleigh Ride 2.0. I fell in love with all the characters on the bead. I kept laughing at the Santa hanging and that his pants were down. I thought “now this is a bead company that has fun”. Ohm beads always have a twist to their ideas, never dull.

    My first contact with Ohm was through watching vids of Nichol on youtube. She reviewed Ohm beads from time to time and I enjoyed watching it, but I never truly got interested enough to really buy some of the beads. Then they released Clowning Around, which was the first bead that really convinced me to open up to the brand. I still regret not getting it in the end since they are limited, so I didn’t make the same mistake with My Precious Skat Too! I fell in love when I saw the detailed baby dragons in a chest on IG and had to have them as I’m a big fantasy&dragon lover.

    From then on Ohm turned into one of my fav bead brands because of their fun and unique designs and projects! ❤

  5. Such a fun story Trudy!!💛
    I had my first encounter with Ohm Beads through my sister. She already had these beautiful charms and I was wondering if I could find a charm that would fit my taste. That’s when I found out about the Rawr collection! I fell in love with the skulls of the dinosaurs 🦖. I chose the Triceratops as my first charm because it’s a herbivore and she also reminded me of Ciara (a character from a movie I watched when I was younger: The Land Before Time). I’m a vegetarian so this charm means a lot to me!
    Since then it’s always fun to see what Ohm Beads brings me!☺️

  6. I love reading about which beads brought people to Ohm! I learned about Ohm from Martha at beads n coffee a few years back. My first Ohm order was for the lighthouse and camping out. Every summer we went camping 🏕 with the boys and I wanted a bracelet for our travels #ohmfirst

    My first Ohm bead was the “Magic Books” bead. I immediately liked the way her hair and wings rest on the fairy’s back and since I love reading fantastic novels, it was obvious to me to get it.

  8. I can’t remember what my first Ohm Bead was! I think it was a blue/green one called Luminous. It was back in the days when their glass beads were the traditional round shape. So cool that you got to see Spock’s costume!

  10. My first Ohm beads purchase was during the holiday season when the Typos were release… Can anyone remember when that was? I think 2016?? Back when ohm had amazing promos, if you purchased 4 typos then you would receive a free bangle! I spelled out HERO because I have always been inspired by the strength of superheros in comic books. I wear it as a reminder to teach my 2 little superhero girls the same! My first Ohm glass purchase was Poison apple & toxic pox, I believe that was spring 2017 after going to spring GLB Bead Bash in Ohio and winning a raffle for Bunny Reaper! I then realized how totally unique and fun the brand was👩🏻‍🎤

  11. When I first saw Ohm beads, I was a little shocked)) because some beads seemed strange to me, especially those concerning death! I thought, “Is this someone wearing a bracelet?” Now I am happy to wear F # @ k and skulls myself! And I love it! I realized that Ohm team are great guys and can treat even shit with humor!
    P.s. my first Ohm bead is a video camera for the “journey” bracelet

  12. I am new to OHM beads. My first encounter was when Emily of Fashion Story Teller and Nichol of My Pretty Charmed Life showcased the Alice in Wonderland collection during their premiere videos. I fell in love immediately! Such great detail on the beads and an interesting twist to the charms. I waited everyday for the launch which was last Wednesday, knowing I was surely gonna purchase some of the items from the collection (for some reason, time passed extra slowly during the stay-at-home period). Alice has always been my favourite childhood character and I can’t wait to receive my first OHM beads from the Alice in Wonderland collection!!! (P.s. Painting the Roses Red, Gallymoggers, Mad Hat, and Mat Time are my most favourite pieces!)

  14. It’s hard to recall my first Ohm bead or any bead! I have so many now! But I do remember one of the oldest. It had to be around 2012. A watermelon slice bead. And Ohm box and paper was pink back then! I remember that! I remember going down a rabbit hole after discovering Ohm. I wanted all the beads! 😂
    I remember when they started BOTM. That was exciting! I hope it never stops. Ohm is truly one of a kind. I couldn’t pick a favorite if I tried.💜🖖

  15. Hallo Trudy! I’m so happy to see another fan of Star Trek like my brother and his daughter! They are really crazy about and watching every day a serie online together, even she lives now in England and my brother in Bulgaria.
    I am a new member of the #ohmily, just from December, when I won my very first Ohm bead,the Snowangel,from the Beadmas Giveaway, hosted from Paula Beadsaholic. And I totally fall in love with the beautiful details and precise work.   18. My very first ohm contact and bead? When I was in Bangkok a few years ago I found them at siam centre and fell in love with the special made beads for Thailand, the tuk tuk and the royal elephant. These were my first ohm beads. And as I love Thailand they always have a special meaning for me.

    My first experience with OHMbeads was on Instagram with Nicol & Emily’s pages. I was excited to see such creative, adventurous, dynamic & beautiful charm pieces.   20. I first saw OHM on Endangered Trolls and my first bead was bead of the month, although I have so many I am not sure which one is first. My favorites are Trick or Treat and Inner Self. I also had the pleasure of attending OHM 10 in NOLA and saw the Tarot Cards BBQ set. Love them!

    I have more questions than answers about my very first OHM bead/encounter. I’m hoping that someone who reads this will have more info/answers than I could find. In 2018 I bought a very cute detailed angel charm from Ebay and later learned that it’s an OHM brand bead called “Lil’ Angel” (AHS032). But, this Lil’ Angel bead has the number 88 engraved on her backside and happens to be a threaded core charm. She also looks to have had gold wash on her wings and halo, but it’s very faded now. Was she a Ltd Edition or an event bead? I’ve had no response from my inquires to OHM; but I still love the brand and this Lil’Angel that started it all!

      1. Yes I think so too! Now I just have to figure out what charity she was made for and when? Do you recall the name of the blog you saw her on? Or at least recall the time period? Sorry for all the questions but she truly is a mystery I must solve! It’s taken me two years to get this far on identifying her, so I’m crossing my fingers for the rest.   22. I’m probably too late to enter but just for fun, my first introduction to Ohm was in searching for a coffee themed charm bead as a gift for my coffee roasting barista boyfriend’s birthday. Who knew the journey ‘My Latte’ would take me on in the #ohmverse & the many wonderful #ohmily I would meet at events such as #ohm10?!

  24. Love your story Trudy! I’m seriously scratching my head to think which was my very first ohmbead…and I have NO answer! I remember Matt getting me ‘love hurts’ when it came out yet I already had many fabulous Ohmbeads. Maybe clouds was my first…or one of them. I love my Ohmbeads and their specail quirky nature. Even more I love all the time we ALL spent together in NOLA. It was one of my most fabulous times with tons of take away memories!
