Christmas is upon us once more and it’s always a joy to take out all the beloved decorations and Christmas beads to deck the halls and wrists!
Last July Spiritbeads Julenisse arrived, just in time for Christmas!
Julenisse is Danish (and Norwegian) for Christmas (Jul) gnome (Nisse). He is also known as Tomte in Sweden. He has a long beard, wearing a floppy hat and holding a bag.
Julenisse comes with a certificate of authenticity.
The folklore tale of Nisse is that he lives in the house and barn of the farmhouse and protects it’s residents. Today Julenisse brings presents on Christmas Eve accompanied by a Yule goat.
Julenisse arrived just in time for our summer holiday! So he traveled back to Denmark with us and his Nisse and Tomte siblings. We had a wonderfull time in Slettestrand and eating fiskefrikadeller on the beach of Thorup Strand. Tomtes from OHM, RedBaliFrog and Patty’s Heartbeads.
Julenisse went on a date with Kokeshi Flower Rose not too long ago! A bangle combined with OHM.
But ofcourse Julenisse is most happy with other Christmas beads! A traditional red and green bracelet with RedBaliFrog, OHM, Trollbeads, Pandora, Bella Fascini and Argostudio.
The colours of the Danish flag are red and white. So lots of Danish Christmas decorations are in these colours.
I made a bangle with Julebock the Yule goat, a Christmas present and teddy bears in red and white. With beads from OHM, Pandora and Trollbeads. Bracelet with OHM, Pandora, Trollbeads and RedBaliFrog.
I love Denmark and Scandinavian traditions! Julenisse is an adorable and festive character ! He is a big part of my Christmas decorations and bracelets! And we made some happy summer holiday memories too! God Jul = Merry Christmas!
