Today is release day for this gorgeous bead OHM King!
Exclusive for the Netherlands it is the next addition to the Going Dutch collection to celebrate Dutch Kings Day. On April 27 the Netherlands celebrates Willem-Alexander’s birthday. King comes in an orange box.
King is a limited edition, only 333 beads are made. The bead comes with a numbered certificate, the corresponding number is engraved in the bead.
The orange bead is decorated with beautiful gold detail fit for a king!
Although the colours of the Dutch flag are red, white and blue orange is used for national celebrations because the Dutch royal family is the House of Orange.
So we dress up in orange, the Orange Legion, for international sports events. And yes, even our king!
And this is how we celebrate Kings Day! It is a real holiday in the Netherlands. The one day it is allowed to sell your stuff in the streets without a permit, the free-market. So on this day the whole nation turns into one gigantic carboot sale! There is a market in every city and town with food, music and loads of junk!
Even OhmGnome celebrated Kings Day! Oranje boven!
A perfect colour and theme to add to the Going Dutch collection! I wrote about the Going Dutch collection before, see posts “I am Dutch you know” (24-10-2016) and “OHM beads Gouda” (18-9-2017).
I just happened to have bought the XXX Panorama bead last month and King fits inside perfectly!
With the XXX City ring.
And together on the ball chain necklace.
I made a bangle that includes the colours of our flag. With Winter Frost, Hive Mind, Cherry Sauce, King, Panorama XXX with Rainbowed inside (did you know? The Netherlands was the first country in the world to legalize same sex marriage!), Cherry Sauce, Hive Mind and Blueberry Pie.
The Going Dutch collection on another bangle. With Je Maintiendrai, CustOHM, Tulips, Skûtsjesilen, Crossed, Gouda, Wrapped, Ride Me, Tulip, CustOHM and Windmill.
My complete Dutch bracelet with Trollbeads and Pandora glass, Trollbeads bracelet, Dutch Tulip and Amsterdam Townhouse, a cute lion and Redbalifrog Dutch Clogs.
Today we are celebrating the release of OHM King with a launch party at jeweller Arie de Koning in Joure! This is my arm party for the day. It’s going to be a day of joy, meeting bead friends and beads, beads, beads! So come back to my blog tomorrow for a complete report of the party!
King is available from Dutch OHM retailers, many ship worldwide.
I am off to Joure now, see you tomorrow!
Disclosure: for this blog I may receive some items as promotional samples.
